Happy Halloween!!! I wish I had a fall/Halloween themed post for you today! Unfortunately I didn't make any costumes this year. Anywho today we're working on a second set of bibs for Baby.

Remember this picture?
Took this at a local fabric shop called In Stitches https://share.google/vBPGaFjgEHHXXpDEd
If you're a quilter and local, I totally recommend checking it out! I made a couple impulse buys while there, one being this cute elephant print fabric we'llbe using today.
I must not have been paying attention because when I got home I realized it was a cotton knit not a woven. I needed to figure out a way to use this little stretchy fabric. So I decided to make bandana bibs. (Funny, she had on a bandana bib while we were shopping lol)
You probably thibk I just traced the bandana bib she's wearing in the above pic, actually I did not. Instead I went with this free pattern from White and Bright which can be found here. https://samandlurel.wordpress.com/2014/04/28/free-bandana-bib-pattern/

I started with printing out my pattern, and laying it out on my fabrics. I used the elephant fabric as my self, and this stretchy fleece for the lining.
Hopefully you can tell by the pictures that the self is bigger than the lining. The drafter of this pattern has you pleat the self so it fits the lining. I tried pleating, gathering, and stretching it to fit. And decided I liked gathering best, but you do you!

After gathering I pinned the self to the lining right sides together, and sewed all around the edge at a 1/4 inch seam allowance leaving an opening to turn.

After turning I pinned all the edges again and of course did a nice topstitch. Closing up my opening and giving it a nice finish.

The drafter did snaps but I like to put in buttons, so I made my buttonholes, sewed on some buttons and was done!

Since I used a remnant under 1/2 yard, I only managed to get three bibs out of this fabric.
Overall I'd say this is a pretty straight forward pattern, perfect for beginners and seasoned stitchers alike. Even though I went with this knit, the original drafter used a woven so its compatible with both. Definitely would recommend, and a great way to use up those fabric scraps you got laying about since it takes very little fabric!
Once again Happy Halloween! And Happy Fashion Friday, I wish you luck in all your crafty projects!
