Sorry I haven't written in awhile! I signed up for a crafting faire and have been a crafting every moment I'm not cleaning or caring for Baby.

Today's post once again involves this darling fabric!

Our niece was having a birthday back in May and wanted to celebrate with a Birthday BBQ. I have this adorable jumpsuit I bought last year that I practically lived in while pregnant. https://www.comstylish.com/products/comstylish-cottage-cherry-polka-dots-linen-blend-jumpsuit
Anyways I thought since I already had the fabric, wouldn't it be so cute if I made Baby a matching jumpsuit for the BBQ?!!! So I got to work.

I pulled out my Simplicity 8143 and set my sights on View D with just a few alterations.
View D:

This one quite simple, I right sides together I sewed the front center seam.

Then I went ahead and added the facing. The pattern does not call for interfacing, but you can if you like, I did not lol. Also I zigzaged the raw edge according to instructions which I did not like! As you can see it came apart after a couple washes, I recommend a thin rolled hem finish instead.
I ditched the tab, and went straight to bias taping the armholes and neckline. As I didn't have any on hand I just made my own.

For the back once again right sides together, sew up that center seam. This time make a casing and string a small piece of elastic. Sew it down.

Right sides together again, sew front to back at the sides, using bias tape to finish crotch raw edges and hem. I used those big terrible snaps that I have a ton of to close up the crotch.
Since the straps in my jumpsuit tie at the shoulders I cut four of view b's straps sewing two in back and two in front.
Here's my darling Baby!!!

My hubby didn't want to be left out, so I also ordered him a shirt from Amazon.
I wish I'd had the time to make him one, but oh well.
Anyways a fun time was had by all, celebrating our niece. And my little family was so cute all dressed up to match!!!
Pattern Review:
All in all I'd say it's an easy one, and I highly recommend! Good for novice sewers, as well as those with more advanced skills, if you can string elastic and sew bias tape you should be fine, especially if you cheat like me and put straps on lol! Well happy sewing, hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!!
