Fall Collection 2025

Updated: Nov 21, 2025

You may notice there's a bit of a time gap since I last posted a Me Made outfit for Baby. That's because I wanted to created my baby a mini collection going into Fall. I created her 5 complete looks comprised of 10 garments plus one bonus garment.

Its not really a cohesive collection because I mostly used fabric leftover from other projects, but I'm very happy with the amount of work I put in and how many garments I was able to produce just sewing during naps lol. It took me a little over 2 months, which is crazy because old Rachel could have done this in 2 weeks or less.

I don't have any step by step pics, because honestly that slows me down and I was making so many pieces. Instead I'll show you the patterns I used and talk you through it that way.

Look 1:

I used two patterns to make this outfit.

Simplicity 3650 for the top and McCall's M8487 for the overalls.

I made the overalls first using 3/4 of a yard of this constellation fabric I picked up at In Stitches in Dixon. It was I remnant piece I bought on impulse, I had just ordered the McCall's pattern and hoped 🤞 it would be enough fabric to make these happen.

Just barely enough, I had to cut into the selvedge to make it work.

I've had the Simplicity pattern since the early 2000, I made that same pirate costume for my niece Gigi when she was a baby. Now its come full circle and I'm using the same pattern for my baby 🥰

I ended up buying the polka dot fabric also from In Stitches. I have soooo much fabric in my fabric horde, and yet not a single thing to go with the constellation overalls. So we headed to In Stitches, in my mind I imagined a neutral, or periwinkle flannel. Nothing, nada, I don't really blame them, it is a quilting shop with one shelf of apparel fabric.

Since they didn't have anything remotely close to what I imagined I was at a loss. My husband ended up picking this white with navy polka dot cotton, its not something I would have chosen but I must confess it turned out pretty cute. And if course my little cutie brings it all together! Lol

I bet you guys are so tired of this McCall's 6853 by now lol. I can't help it, its a good pattern! I think this is my 3rd time using the pattern, making this my 3rd variation of it. I think this just goes to show you don't need to invest in a lot of patterns so long as you have imagination.

My sister gave me the Star Wars cotton fabric, it was leftover from a quilting project of hers. I'd cut out the pieces and was just shy of a bodice lining. I went to my stash and would you believe I had nothing to go with this!!! I almost used some rainbow stars that didn't really match when my mom gave me this bright blue cotton from her stash (also from a leftover project). It was just under a yard and enough to do these puffy pants and line my bodice.

Breaking out Simplicity 3650 again. This is probably my favorite outfit of the bunch. And as you can see I used the skirt from view C & D. I had a half yard that was just enough. The fabric was a leftover piece of cotton from some old unknown project.

I actually didn't use a pattern for the top because I totally winged that and drew it directly onto the fabric. I should have taken a picture. I was only 99% sure it was gonna turn out and it totally did! The Star Wars Dia de los muertos fabric was an uncut yard I'd purchased to make masks. I had originally planned for it to be the skirt, but there wasn't enough of the aqua fabric to make a blouse so I inverted the two. I loved these two fabrics together, and actually think it turned out better this way.

Simplicity 3725, my mom gave me this vintage pattern which is so cute! Plus y'all know how I feel about vintage! I made a small adjustment of moving the buttons from the back to the front. I started this look before going on vacation and forgot I'd altered it. Y'all I was totally confused as to where I left off, and what I was doing when I came back to it 😵‍💫

Eventually I figured it out. This is made from a polyester interlock. This is leftover from one of my Dystopian outfits made during covid, think I bought this in downtown LA???

Initially I thought it pretty plain ( that was before the lace) I ran across the lace while looking for felt and thought it might elevate the look. I had to take apart the sides before attaching it but am a lot happier with the overall look. The lace is leftover from the tablecloth I made last year.

McCall's 5321, I used this pattern in the Summer to make Baby shorts. As you can see the only change to this pattern I made was removing the cuffs from the pants, I just wanted the top and bottom to have the same clean finish.

This fabric is a spandex double knit, no doubt you've seen many times, because I've used it for dozens of projects. I originally purchased it from Fashion Fabrics Club to make dance team costumes for a school I worked for down in socal. I ended up with a ton leftover and have been slowly using it whenever it makes sense.

It has such a cool texture, that it works as a two piece like this without being boring. I ended up finishing off the bolt with this outfit, its kind of bittersweet because its such a cool fabric.

Bonus Garment:

McCall's M8487 again! Okay so I had to make her this cute little vest that she can pair with nearly any outfit. I love denim vests! I totally spent way too much time on all the topstitching (the pattern does not call for it). I love the overall look, my baby is so cute and ready for Fall! I know its nearly over, but it was kind of a warm fall anyways so things worked out.

Happy Fashion Friday! Remember its never too soon to become a fashionista lol
