We woke up to a wild wind day! Our Hostess made us breakfast consisting of Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, diced watermelon, cinnamon buns, and orange juice. After breakfast we just spent time in good conversation enjoying each other's company. My dad lost fuseball to our host, who is apparently a fuseball shark lol.
It was hard to say goodbye one evening wasn't enough that's for sure. Next visit will have to be longer. It was nearly two when we managed to depart, Oklahoma was not at all what I expected. In my head I imagined fields of golden wheat. What I saw was a lot more green.
We did listen to the radio some more, and then we returned to the Three Musketeers. As I was reading about D'Artagnan reniting with his friends, we grew hungry reading of all the delicious food they were eating. We happened to pass a billboard at the exact moment, Buffalo Burgers at Cherokee Restaurant! It was a sign, we had a new destination.
Service was slow, and they didn't give us any napkins or utensils ( we had to request those) that aside the staff was friendly and the atmosphere beautiful. My mom and I both got Buffalo Burgers and Tater Tots. My Dad, was not adventurous so he got the Cherokee Burger (beef) and french fries. The food was excellent! I personally am a big fan of buffalo meat already so I was happy đ My mom was pleasantly surprised, as it was her first time trying buffalo. My dad had a bite of the buffalo burger, and said it was actually better than the beef and lamented his choice.
We all got some turnovers to go, and made our way down to the shop.
The shop was so cute and carried all kinds of goodies. Most of it made by Oklahomans. Once again I bought postcards, and also a cute leather bracelet. Oh I nearly forgot to mention, today I wore a baby pink knit dress, with a lace overly on the bodice. This dress I've had over 10yrs, its so comfy, takes up little luggage space, and doesn't wrinkle thanks to the knit. Normally the perfect travel dress, except for yesterday's wind made me regret wearing a skirt đ
Back to the bracelet, if you follow me on social media, your probably well aware by now of how much I like leather bracelets and cuffs. But for those who don't, I'm constantly making them so yeah, I like them a lot. This one is fun because the lacing makes me think of a football.
It was around this time we realized we were driving along Historic Route 66! We're not really sure when that happened, as route 66 has since been absorbed by the larger highway. But it was still really cool to of traveled. We eventually rolled into our KOA, I ate my turnover and went to bed. The turnover was delicious by the way, Apple đ
