I Seoul U

Today I met up with my Pen pal Jamin, who helped me get a Korean phone number so I wouldn't get lost. (Did you know there's a lot of Muslims in Korea? The man I'm rent my phone from's wife was wearing a full Burka. Halal restaurants are on every corner, who knew!)

We went down to the iconic Han River for chicken and beer, minus the chicken and beer lol. In Korea they have chicken and beer at the Han River, I had neither as we were planning to go for BBQ that night and I don't drink beer. But we saw lots of people order their 치킨과 맥주 and enjoy the park.

Apparently there are parks all along the Han River, the one I visited was in Yeouido. It was surprisingly busy for a week day, but the next day was a holiday so that could be why. I didn't get to ride a bike, but that's okay because I don't know how to ride one anyways lol.

Next off to Jongkak Avenue of Youth for dinner. We passed by a palace, an auditorium, a museum, and the U.S. Embassy (look ma, I found it!)

I finally learned how to BBQ properly, so next time we go out, I'll take the lead. BBQ with ice cream for dessert. We went to Baskin Robbins where I opted for the flavor black ( not joking guys, that's literally what it said) which tasted like nothing so they really captured the flavor.

Apparently in Korea there is something called second round. Which is when you go out a second time. So after ice cream we went for more food. I didn't really eat anything at this place that's why no pics. Also some Korean girls with limited English started chatting me up. We exchanged phone numbers, but I can't imagine hanging out as communication would be difficult.

And then in true Korean fashion, we karaoked the night away. To far away in fact as the subway closed and we had to catch cabs to go back home. It's nearly impossible to get a cab in Korea in the middle of the night, I will not be making that mistake again.

What Did I Wear?

Though it was a beautiful day I knew would cool down, so I came prepared. I wore a black jersey top with some striped pantsy my bestie gave me. I also wore my Zenni optical sunglasses because the sun. I packed the same purple Champion windbreaker from my previous post "See you in Seoul" that I donned once the weather chilled.
