Summer came hard and fast here in Cali, that's why I decided it was time to make my little mini some shorts!

I got the idea cause a lady in my mom's church bought her a cute little outfit that included shorts. I liked them and thought, more of these would be nice. So with these as my inspo, I looked for a pattern.

This pattern doesn't have a shorts option, but what are shorts if not short pants? I decided this was the closest to what I was looking for, this will be my base.

Tada!!! Turns out if you cut pants, you can have shorts! Now to repeat.

I cut four shorts out of different knits I already had. The white is leftover from some cheer uniforms I made way long time ago when I lived in the city of Orange. Fabric was sourced at M&L fabrics in Anaheim https://mandlfabricsdiscountstore.com/ The green is actually a rayon knit, really nice stuff, that was given to me. The brown was also given to me. The grey is a really thin knit leftover from when I was making lightweight cardigans and is also from M&L.

I love projects like this because they're so quick and easy. I start by sewing inseams, right sides together.

Next I sewed the crotch. Again right sides together. I'm using a zigzag stitch because my serger is still at my parents house. We finally got a shed, I should be rearanging the office soon to make room for the rest of my stuff.

Now for the hem, pretty sure I did a 5/8 inch hem.

Lastly I put in the elastic, I zigzaged the elastic into the raw edge of the wrong side stretching the elastic to fit. Then flipped the elastic over, again onto the wrong side, and zigzaged a second time stretching to fit. This the end result.
Repeat

And now little Baby is four sets of shorts the richer, I got my sewing fix, and you got to read this post. A win all around!
Happy Fashion Friday! I look forward to keep attempting to sew, and sharing the results with you. Wishing you all goodluck on your projects!!!
P.S. I'm not reviewing this pattern because in all fairness I didn't read a single word of the thing and just did what I wanted. I'll make something else with this pattern later and give an honest review.
