Are you ready for a Brand New Travel Adventure!??? I hope so cause here we go again! I'm calling this weekend Viaje a Santa Clarita. We started this trip off right with an early morning breakfast courtesy of mi madre. Huevos, salchichas y patatas, breakfast of champions. We were all loaded up and out the door by 9.
We had a very uneventful ride, (except for when my dad started complaining about an ache in his leg and was driving all crazy. My life flashed before my eyes 😳) Since I wasn't driving I decided to catch up on some reading, I've had Doctor Thorne by Anthony Trollope for about a year now and just cracked it open. We also listened to The Red Signal by Agatha Christie on audio book though I must confess I didn't pay as close attention as I'm usually want to.
We all made it in one piece, and rolling up found the Hotel my dad booked to be the most darling thing.
Called Hotel Lexen it is so freaking adorable! I'm in love with the cowboy theme 🤠 and the desk clerk was probably the nicest, friendliest I've encountered in a long time! He was so sweet, one of those personalities that just lights up the room,he informed us lobby is open 24 hours. They have complimentary juice and coffee 24 hours, complimentary laundry room, free continental breakfast in the morning, and the gym is also available for use.
And then the room! The attention to detail, robs in the bathroom, a glass shower! It's a small room yes, but beautifully decorated, I really liked all the little touches, really brought it to life.
After settling in, and trying to get back to my book, the fire alarm went off. My mom slightly panicked but the front desk man assured us every thing was fine and not to worry. Since dad was feeling hungry, especially after the whole alarm we went for an early dinner. I guess my parents had gone to Becco de Bupo laat time they were here and wanted to go again.
Started off with bread and salad and then moved on to the baked ziti with italian sausage. Excellent, for dessert I just wanted a scoop of ice cream but my dad wanted some exploding brownie thing. We all shared the brownie which turned out to be ice cream, topped with brownie, topped with whipped cream, topped with cherries and sprinkles.
I wanted to go for walk after dinner you know, just to check out the shopping center. But it was already getting chilly, and we had already eaten outside. We decided just to return to our room at the Hotel where once again, I tried to get back to my book. I ended up nodding off only to be awoken but someone asking if I heard fireworks and if they were coming from Disneyland. I said absolutely no as Disneyland was too far away. That did prompt me to get ready for bed. That's pretty much it for day one! Not a lot happened but that's pretty typical for a traveling day.
What did I wear? I ended up going with a long sleeves ribbed dress that has decorative buttons up the front I purchased from Kohl's. I paired it with some black thigh high boots from wish and a leopard print sherpa jacket. I didn't take really any pics of myself because I dyed my hair blue and absolutely hate it. I low-key had an anxiety attack over it. I managed to get a lot of the color out thank goodness but am still unhappy about ruining my hair.
Moral of the story being, don't try new hairdos based on tiktok filters.
