Welcome Back! This week we're talking about yet another Monster Pin Up. The Classic Ghost!
Now you saw my take on the Irish Ghost in my Top O' the Morning and if you read The Bride, you've seen my take on Frankenstein's Bride. (Fun fact! My Marilyn Babaydoll was actually based off of the Classic Ghost)
So looked through my old sketchbook and found nothing on the Classic Ghost. Well nothing other than my shoot date and some model measurements. Which tells me I did this one on a whim, no sketches needed.
So what does this mean!? How did I go about designing this Nightgown? Curiously I have no idea myself.
I'll tell you what I do remember, I remember going to Joann's and buying a whole bunch of Grey Georgette, it was a really good price, and I didn't know what I would do with it, so I put into my hoard.
Well Classic Ghost rolls around and some how I ended up with it in my hands and I knew, it was meant for this.
And then Barbra Steele Came to mind.
I actually watched this movie with my Dad and we both commented on how appealing the Chemise is and how underrated its become.
I went ahead and made a Classic Chemise for my Classic Ghost. I then added a bunch of slits in various lengths giving it an ethereal vibe.
Going into this shoot my thought was to 1) Look like a Ghost 2) Offer a short run of this nightgown by special order to my guests.
But after getting these pictures back I've decided to add this one to my shop on a permanent basis.
It's been such a long time since I pulled it out I'd forgotten how much I liked it, and how pretty it looks, and how airy it feels. So friends keep an eye out for this one in the shop. Available in sizes Small through 5X! I've also included pictures of the original model in the Gallery Below.
